Does the Tail Wag the Dog, or Brilliance and Stagnation of a Knowledge Intensive Organization (Case Study)
http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/journal/paperinfo.aspx?journalid=324&doi=10.11648/j.ebm.20150101.11
The undermentioned case study shows processes in connection with a leader change in a higher educational institute, in a Middle- East – European country. The study highlights the consequences and the probably pitiable outcomes of these processes. The lifelike conditions of this case study confirm the well-known establishments which are continuously communicated by the management theory to practice. Namely, what damages are caused by an incorrect leader election process which is not looked over enough, an incompetent leadership and its methods, the inappropriately handled change and knowledge management processes or their deficiencies. In connection with the case study the leaders of companies and institutes can recognize pitfalls which can be put down to the account of their own unpreparedness and of their employees’ misinterpreted behaviour. Leaders sometimes interpret their employees’ collective behaviour badly and as a result of this community formation can be a ’mass effect’ where key persons influence other colleagues’ opinion. The case study is a wholesome story from some additional perspectives as well. For example, the cultural effects which are deeply rooted in the historical past of a community or in a country. The effects mentioned do not allow a rational change management and the misinterpreted managerial functions and roles mislead the destiny of an institute.

The Degree of Czech Companies´ Internationalization
http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/journal/paperinfo.aspx?journalid=324&doi=10.11648/j.ebm.20150101.12
The issue of the degree of company internationalization has become in recent decades the focus of much research. As there is no universally applicable measurement concept, most researches face the difficult task of bringing research questions, measurement concepts and data availability into line. This paper includes theoretical as well as methodological considerations concerning the measurement of the internationalization degree of Czech companies. The companies included in the study are those that have undertaken internationalization activities and are incorporated in the Czech Republic. The research has been carried out with the help of a corpus of 297 enterprises. The research method was an oral questioning and the main instrument was a questionnaire. The measuring the degree of internationalization of Czech companies was based on available data which are, in the case of Czech companies, very limited. This study reveals the fact that the degree of internationalization of Czech companies is generally relatively low, but slightly higher for large companies than for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Identification and Conduct of Cost Drivers of Variable Costs in the Short Term
http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/journal/paperinfo.aspx?journalid=324&doi=10.11648/j.ebm.20150102.13

Global Security and the Role of the European Union
http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/journal/paperinfo.aspx?journalid=324&doi=10.11648/j.ebm.20150102.14
Present security situation in the world is differs from the Cold War and requires another approaches to solve many problems of regional or global character. To the fact, that the EU wants to play on the world political and military scene the role that is looking for, will be forced to work hard on enhancing effective (and in the future even a single) security policy, which has to be accompanied by an adequate building of military capabilities. Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) is an integral part of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), while it can be seen as a deepening of the CFSP, as well as a specific instrument of the CFSP. This article focuses on the role of the Common Security and Defence Policy of the European Union, which through foreign operations and missions contributes to the stabilization and security not only in Europe but also globally. Attention is also paid to the expenses EU Member States spend on defense and last but not least to the analysis of issues in cooperation of the EU and NATO as an important factor of transatlantic security.
